This is a blended course. Participants will receive a link to online videos that must be completed by 6/9/2021 to participate in the training.

Assuming video completion, the in-person portion is a two days. This Red Cross lifeguarding course with a waterfront module will allow leaders water activities (swimming & some boating). On day 1 and 2, participants will meet at the pool at the Kroc Center (Coeur d'Alene) at 9am. On Day 2, participants will travel to Camp 4 Echoes to complete the waterfront module.
On the first day, participants must pass a test showing they meet the prerequisites for the course. Prerequisites include: 1) 550 yds continues swim using front crawl or breast stroke; 2) tread water for 2 minutes with no hands; 3) swim 20 yds and retrieve a 10 lb brick and swim 20 yds back with brick on chest and remove it from the pool in less than 1 minute, 40 seconds; and 4) retrieve 3 dive rings approximately 5 yds apart in 1 breath. No goggles allowed except for the long swim.
Overnight accommodations at C4E or Spokane hostel may be available.
